PROJECT 3: INTERPRETATION&
REPRESENTATION

PRINCIPLES, TECTONICS

and SENSORY

For the Final Project of Studio I, we are required to deconstruct the tectonic structure from Project 2. We are going to identify a dominant theme from our understanding of design elements and principles and enhance the structure to create a narrative architectural representation and our own reinterpretation of our Tectonic through a series of spaces with sensorial experiences.

reflection

In this Final Project, I found that sensorial experience is very important in designing a structure. It helps the user to experience a "feel" and it will make the user view the whole structure differently. It is also very important to relate the idea of design intention in anthropometric and ergonomic to space and its experiential qualities.

The TGC that I had gained from this project is LIFELONG LEARNING as I am able to

understand and utilize all the information and knowledge properly by myself. I am also

able to produce designs at appropriate complexity and scales up to the schematic level

using appropriate tools.

In addition, the TGC that I had gained throughout this project is THINKING AND

SOLVING SKILLS which helps me to think critically and creatively to identify key

architectural design elements and principles and employ them in creating an architectural

composition that demonstrates space-making.

Lastly, throughout this project, I also gained another TGC which is INTRAPERSONAL SKILLS.

I am able relate the idea of the individual ‘self’ and the body’ to space and its

experiential qualities. I am also able to demonstrate satisfactory manual drawing

and model-making skills to represent and communicate the design.
